Greg Takemoto
Greg Takemoto has been playing saxophone for 22 years-since he was 9 years old. Before moving to RI, Greg lived in Sacramento, California and attended Chico State University with a focus on a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance (saxophone). He toured for a couple years with a couple of funk and groove bands, playing at the Mountain Air and High Sierra Music Festivals. Greg moved here to study with Rhode Island's Greg Abate in 2003. He has been playing regularly with local musicians and working on some original projects. He currently teaches at the RI Philharmonic's Music School, Our Lady of Mercy Middle School and More than Music and loves sharing his enthusiasm for music with his students.
